Inspired by the following passage from The Golden Key by George MacDonald:

The forest lay to the east, and the sun, which was setting behind the cottage, looked straight into the dark wood with his level red eye. The trees were all old, and had few branches below, so that the sun could see a great way into the forest and the boy, being keen-sighted, could see almost as far as the sun. The trunks stood like rows of red columns in the shine of the red sun, and he could see down aisle after aisle in the vanishing distance. And as he gazed into the forest he began to feel as if the trees were all waiting for him, and had something they could not go on with till he came to them.

About Christi

I am a single mother with two young daughters who are the world to me. I am a philosophy professor, especially fond of Kierkegaard and Augustine. Presently, I teach as an adjunct at a plethora of colleges in the Houston area, trying to make ends meet. Creating art brings me immense joy, but only recently have I begun to venture into the arena of making my creations a consumer commodity. I'd rather my work be created as a good in itself, and given to those I love. But necessity breeds invention, they say, and human beings have to eat.
